"CD on 1 side - Vinyl record on the other"

Germany's Optimal Media has created one nifty item. The Two-in-one disc... It's one part compact disc, one part vinyl record. The CD side can contain at least 70 minutes of music, while the vinyl record side can hold around 3 minutes of music.

The first act to use this technology is a four-piece post-hardcore band from London, England - FIGHTSTAR who are signed to Institute/Gut Records. While I am not familiar with this group's chunes, I can say this should get them a fair amount of press.

It's doubtful that this new invention will appeal to the masses, but it's still quite cool in my opinion. Hey, at least in this day & age people are trying to come up with new ideas to create alternate sources of revenue.
