Music lovers who are technologically challenged, or just don't have the time to transfer all their tunes, are now fueling a growing industry: iPod loaders.
Companies such as dmp3digital.com will convert all your CD's to digital mp3 format for a price ranging from 89 cents to $1.49, depending on audio quality.
San Francisco-based Digital Revolution, specializes in transferring analog format to digital.
Owner Paul Grippaldi tells CBS5 he can convert most of his customer's collections in just a few days.
"About 20 percent of the people who come in don't know how to do it," said Grippaldi. "About 80 percent just don't have time and they want improved quality of their CD's."
Kenny Leather, a loan consultant from Walnut Creek has about 300 CD's in his collection.
He is resolved to spend time with his family and equally determined eventually to transfer all this music onto his iPod.
It's a process that is taking years and is only about 70 percent complete.
"When I do this, it's usually when my son and my wife are asleep and it takes awhile," said Leather.
Some of the iPod loaders are even selling gift certificates just in time for the holidays.
